About The Position

Construction Site Managers primarily are responsible for the day to day construction activities on the job sites; leading, teaching, and supervising volunteers; planning work flow; and organizing material needs. We are proud to provide a benefits package that includes: Paid vacation Sick leave 13 paid holidays annually Insurance: medical, dental, vision 100% paid for staff member , Partial benefit for dependents Short-term and long term disability AD&D insurance, Basic Life Insurance & voluntary Life Insurance 403b Retirement plan with 5% match after first year of employment Flexible spending account Employee store discounts HOME CONSTRUCTION Oversee construction site operations including: Volunteer activities – provide volunteer training and support services to ensure an exceptional volunteer experience Resource management – ensure Habitat jobsite is secure, clean and organized, and tools, and equipment are kept in good working order and protected from loss/theft Interface with homebuyers – facilitate homebuyer involvement in the construction process. Report any homebuyer-related issues to the Construction Project Manager. Ensure a safe working environment – promote and follow best safety practices on site Participate in weekly planning meetings Perform warranty repairs as assigned Building Code Compliance Ensure all work is executed in accordance with the IRC, IBC & WSEC as well as local jurisdiction standards Coordinate building inspections as needed with the Construction Superintendent and interface with inspection officials Materials Ensure materials are utilized as efficiently as possible Work with the Construction Superintendent for material needs and timing Receive deliveries, confirm material is what was ordered, manage documentation as needed. Sub-Contractors Work with the Construction Superintendent to schedule sub-contractors and coordinate work flow

Requirements

  • A minimum 3 years construction experience with at least one year in supervision
  • Candidate will be expected to have Competent Person certification or the ability to obtain (at affiliate expense) within the first year on the job
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, structural engineering plans, and documents
  • Construction math proficiency required
  • High degree of organization and time management skills required
  • Capacity to focus on multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively
  • Motivation to be self-directed; interest and ability to work with both skilled and unskilled volunteers
  • Availability to work a Tuesday – Saturday schedule with occasional after hours work
  • Ability to lead and manage groups of up to 20 people of diverse backgrounds, often with limited English language proficiency
  • Willingness to occasionally use a personal truck or van for work related activities (reimbursable)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with public speaking, training and meeting facilitation preferred
  • Experience with diverse ethnic and faith communities preferred
  • Fluency in a second language such as Spanish, Vietnamese or Russian is highly desirable
  • Previous work experience with non-profit organizations desirable
