About The Position

Wood is accepting expressions of interest for a Construction Supervisor to join our team in Georgia. The Construction Supervisor is responsible for performing field activities, monitoring day-to-day work of contractors/sub-contractors, reporting all potential safety and quality issues, assisting with cost, progress and materials reporting. Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project. This role supporting the capital project construction at a Pharmaceutical / Life Science Facility

Requirements

  • Currently authorized to work in USA without sponsorship from Wood
  • Appropriate level of field construction experience, typically gained through a minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant industry.
  • Proven experience in the management of site construction.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in document creation and editing (Microsoft Office Products such as Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel)
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills are necessary in order to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing requirements to a wide range of client groups (internal and external)
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently, or in a team environment, and provide leadership, support, direction, and consultation
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives with strong organizational skills to meet project deadlines
  • Willingness to travel, participate in activities, network and build relationships
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to organize, analyze and report on various parameters and data sets
  • Ability to proactively detect challenges to safety, quality, cost and schedule that will ensure development and execution of effective prevention, mitigation, or corrective actions
  • Able to establish and maintain a positive and effective customer relationship, ensuring payment terms are met, and communicating any delays.
  • Well organized, observant, good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with timelines/targets.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Life Science projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong preference for candidates in the Athena, GA area.
  • Preference for EPCM experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables
  • Responsible for management and execution of a single field discipline or a subset of assigned construction project(s) in accordance with the requirements of the contract between the company and the client, and in accordance with the company’s operating policies and principles.
  • Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality and safety standards and requirements specified for the project.
  • Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on site construction.
  • Management of installation, commissioning and completion activities for some materials and equipment
  • Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control
  • Ensure all workers within their area(s) of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal and competent manner including any Health and Safety and site-specific inductions
  • Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within their area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment and control of risks in accordance with Wo0d and client requirments
  • Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on site construction.
  • Utilise Commercial processes to capture variations effectively
  • Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables, accommodation and other project-specific requirements, in accordance with client/contract document specifications and in accordance with Wood Policies & Procedures
  • Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required
  • Actively engages with the other contractors / sub-contractors to ensure seamless delivery at site(s)
  • Engages with individual project teams to ensure correct level and sequence of Work Breakdown Structure adopted at project kick off
  • Ensure all Site activities are performed in a safe, environmentally responsible manner with integrity and quality delivering HS&E targets
