About The Position

If you’re passionate about being part of a dynamic organization that enables a Fortune 100 company with nearly $70 billion in annual sales to drive innovation and adopt new technologies that deliver business results, then Nationwide’s Technology team could be the place for you! At Nationwide®, “on your side” goes beyond just words. Our customers are at the center of everything we do and we’re looking for associates who are passionate about delivering extraordinary care. This role is part of a team responsible for driving business outcomes for a critical enterprise data asset. The Delivery Leader will oversee work that supports, maintains, and enhances the asset’s business capabilities. Success requires the ability to quickly integrate with the team, build trusted relationships, manage multiple complex workstreams, and apply strong project management rigor within a hybrid project/product environment. This role plays a key “connector” function - linking projects to execution across teams and business leads, ensuring work is sequenced, understood, and delivered in a way that supports broader business objectives. The Delivery Leader is expected to ask hard questions, pressure‑test assumptions and financials, and call out when things don’t appear reasonable. Ideal Candidate Profile Project Management Expertise: Proven experience leading complex IT initiatives involving diverse business and technology teams. Comfortable operating in waterfall, agile, and hybrid delivery models. Enterprise & Connector Mindset: Able to “connect the dots” across initiatives, financials, data, and stakeholders—translating projects into clear delivery plans and proactively surfacing dependencies, risks, and integration points for line and business leads, and raising flags when pieces don’t line up. Relationship Builder: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust quickly across teams. Builds a cohesive, day‑to‑day working relationship with the Agile Lead, SEPM, and Product Owner to stay aligned on scope, priorities, and delivery. Self‑Starter & Driver: Able to identify priorities in a fast-moving environment and drive initiatives to completion with minimal guidance, consistently anticipating what is needed next. Proactively spots gaps, risks, and opportunities, brings forward clear options and recommendations, and drives aligned decisions and execution with limited direction. Stakeholder Management: Skilled in engaging stakeholders, communicating progress, resolving issues, and aligning efforts to business goals within a complex, matrixed organization. Tech-Savvy: Confident using digital tools and technologies to streamline work and collaborate effectively, including in remote settings, and able to understand how Nationwide’s delivery process flows and systems integrate across key touchpoints. Strong Facilitator: Capable of leading effective meetings and working sessions that achieve objectives and drives clear decisions and owners. Time & Priority Management: Adept at managing multiple concurrent initiatives, ensuring timelines, budgets, and expectations are met, while challenging unrealistic dates or resource assumptions. Leadership & Followership: Brings solid project leadership experience while remaining open to learning and adapting to Nationwide’s delivery practices. Able to support line and business leads in delivery while also providing healthy challenge and being willing to say “no” or “not yet” with clear rationale. Analytical Thinker: Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, including analyzing data, identifying trends, and informing recommendations. Comfortable sanity‑checking financials, estimates, and metrics and calling out when numbers or processes don’t appear reasonable - digging into root causes and ensuring resolution. NOTE: This is a hybrid role under Nationwide’s SuccessFlex program and requires working onsite in Columbus, OH two days per week. #LI-TN1 Job Description Summary If you’re enthusiastic about delivering secure technology solutions to support a company providing extraordinary care to its customers, then Nationwide Technology is the place for you.
