The Consulting Architect for the Architecture Management team serves as a critical enabler to ensure that the enterprise architecture strategy, processes, and tools are fully aligned with the goals and requirements of the business. As the Lead Architect of Enterprise Architecture processes and tools, the individual provides thought and technology leadership while working closely with Architects and partner Enterprise Technology (ET) teams to drive efficient, well-understood, and flexible management practices. In addition to setting the strategy and directing the operations of the Architecture Management team, they lead the implementation and operation of a cross-functional Architecture Center of Excellence. Ultimately, this position provides vital process and methods leadership within a complex, highly interdependent environment, successfully navigating challenging financial, technical, and project management constraints Based in Dearborn, MI, this is a hybrid position with a required four-day onsite presence each week. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • 7 + years as a Technical subject matter expert in Enterprise Architecture competency with experience including:
  • In depth architecture expertise across all aspects of architecture (Business, solution, information, application and infrastructure)
  • Experience developing architecture strategies/blueprints for a given set of Business Capabilities and Processes
  • In depth technical understanding of setting strategy through a structured architecture process
  • 5+ years of experience of leading Architects, Product Managers, Developers and/or outside partners.
  • Must be able to think and act strategically, without constraints, and be able to define and operationalize a strategy
  • Strong demonstrated competencies across the Business landscape
  • Strong demonstrated competencies working within and across Product Teams
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Guide – level competency in Enterprise Architecture
  • Proven ability to work closely with management one to three levels above both in business and IT

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought and technology leadership while working closely with Architects and partner Enterprise Technology (ET) teams to drive efficient, well-understood, and flexible architecture management practices.
  • Set the strategy and direct the operations of the Architecture Management team
  • Manage a team of 15+ Architects, Product Managers, and external partners located in all global Regions.
  • Manage the Architecture Management team supporting all strategy, process, and tool simplification and improvements.
  • Manage the Architecture Modeling function to ensure technical requirements are balanced.
  • Lead development of the Architecture Center of Excellence key strategies (e.g. process, methods, information, and tools).
  • Manage and coordinate architecture learning and development.
