Payactiv is looking for the Consumer Banking and Payments Operations Manager to support the successful launch and ongoing enhancement of Payactiv’s banking and payments products. This role plays a critical part in testing new payment processes, validating system changes, and ensuring operational readiness prior to release. In addition, this position serves as a key operational partner and assistant to the Senior Director of Consumer Banking and Payments, supporting strategic initiatives, documentation, reporting, and back-of-house system-related functions. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable operating behind the scenes to ensure accuracy, stability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and structured documentation approach.
  • Understanding of banking and payments operations (ACH, RTP, cards, etc. preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a regulated fintech environment.
  • Bachelor’s in business finance or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in banking, payments, or fintech operations.
  • Experience supporting UAT, system testing, or operational readiness initiatives.
  • Familiarity with banking portals and payment workflows preferred.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel/Sheets, and reporting tools.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Compliance
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven.
  • Proactive and comfortable working behind the scenes.
  • Able to translate technical updates into operational impact.
  • Strong organizational skills and executive presence.
  • Motivated to support scalable financial product growth.

Responsibilities

  • Banking and Payments Product Testing Support testing of new products, enhancements, and workflow updates (ACH, RTP, cards, accounts, wallet, etc.).
  • Execute test cases and document results to validate functionality, controls, and system performance.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to identify bugs, defects, and process gaps.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination and tracking.
  • Ensure operational readiness prior to go-live, including SOP updates and stakeholder communication.
  • Monitor, escalate and resolve post go-live issues based on user feedback loop.
  • Back-of-House System Support Assist in managing internal banking portals, system configurations, and operational dashboards.
  • Support reconciliation workflows, reporting automation, and exception tracking.
  • Maintain documentation related to system processes, permissions, and controls.
  • Help monitor system performance and flag risks or inconsistencies.
  • Executive & Operational Support Provide analytical and operational support to the Senior Director of Consumer Banking and Payments.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and executive summaries on payment volumes, testing results, and operational metrics.
  • Track project milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across initiatives.
  • Assist with cross-functional coordination and follow-ups to ensure timely execution.
  • Process Improvement & Documentation Develop and maintain detailed SOPs and testing documentation.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Contribute to strengthening operational controls and scalability.
