About The Position

The Dental Consumer Relations Specialist (Dental CRS) is a customer friendly individual who performs services and duties related to patient managed care eligibility and processing for benefit services related to eligibility determination of clinic payer program. May serve as a back-up to all primary Dental Business Office duties, i.e. Registration and Medical Records Dental Managed Care Referrals. Acts as lead person for all department projects.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or General Educational Development (GED) Certificate with two years of experience in a community organization solving consumer problems.
  • Prior experience in or working knowledge of a dental managed care environment preferred.
  • Fluency in English (speaks, read and write)
  • Fluency in Spanish (speaks, translate, read and write).
  • Some knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, and billing codes preferred.
  • Ability to utilize a personal computer, with working knowledge of Microsoft office programs to include Microsoft Outlook.
  • Willing and able to work a flexible and sometimes variable schedule to accommodate the needs of the health center.
  • Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
  • Prior experience as a Registration Clerk / Dental Team Clerk is preferred.
  • The Practice Management Information access level is 2.
