A Brief Overview The Consumer Underwriter I makes decisions on consumer loans and credit cards that have been submitted for credit approval and risk assessment. Assesses the borrower's financial situation, credit history, and ability to repay the loan based on guidelines provided by the Bank. What you will do Review consumer loan and credit card applications within the department's established timelines. Demonstrate the ability to independently make and communicate sound decisions based upon Bank policies, knowledge, and experience. Manage multiple tasks and respond to pressure and change with poise and confidence. Provide clear and concise loan decisions to the retail banking staff. Build approved credit card applications in the processing system to send card and disclosures to customers. Other Qualifications/Requirements Possess understanding of the regulations which impact Consumer Underwriting and Credit Card Department and working in compliance with those. H.S. Diploma or GED and minimum 1 year underwriting - consumer lending preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
