About The Position

The Content Marketing Intern will support the success of Versaterm’s branding strategy, assisting the Senior Manager, Content Marketing and Digital Content Specialist with editing and writing for campaigns (blogs, collateral, emails) and external communications. This position also supports writing for events, social media and our website. You will execute a variety of day-to-day responsibilities in tandem with aiding longer term strategic projects and priorities as needed. Additionally, you will gain firsthand experience with marketing innovative technology to the public safety sector as well as have opportunities to pursue projects related to your interests and skillsets.

Requirements

• Pursuing Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field preferred.
• Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Creative mindset balanced with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Organized self-starter with ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
• Familiarity with SEO, or interest in learning about best practices in SEO is a plus.
• Light design skills, image editing is a plus.
• Based in the Lexington/Columbia, South Carolina area preferred.
• Due to the nature of our work with public safety agencies, this position requires compliance with the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive, fingerprint-based background check. Please note that specific customer contracts may impose additional security verification requirements. Obtaining and maintaining all required security clearances is a condition of employment. Responsibilities

• Write and review content for campaigns, events, websites, social media channels and public communications
• Prepare well-structured drafts using Microsoft Office and digital publishing platforms
• Create and distribute content which will catch maximum customer interest
• Edit and proofread written pieces before publication
• Ensure content list stays updated
• Assist with conducting keyword research and use SEO guidelines to optimize content
• Identify content needs and recommend new topics
• Maintain consistency in content and ensure alignment with brand guidelines
• Perform quality checks of website, virtual event profiles and public profiles
• Support social media through content creation and monitoring mentions, competitor accounts, etc.
• Execute other duties as assigned
