Job Summary: The Continuous Improvement Engineering Manager will lead the identification of cost saving- and organic volume growth opportunities and implement transformational productivity Improvements through use of Total Quality Management (TQM), Arconic Business System tools (ABS) and Reliability Excellence methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, Industrial).
  • 3 years' experience in continuous improvement (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Reliability Excellence, etc.), metallurgy or quality management with strong leadership, team building and facilitation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
  • Leadership and facilitation of multi-disciplinary Improvement Teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Data analysis, visualization and reporting.
  • Skilled and experienced in advanced Excel and Power point.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across key Arconic bottleneck production centers.
  • Identify waste and reduce internal scrap/rework rates.
  • Coach and help with development of supervisors and other leaders in promoting the effective use of ABS in their departments.
  • Drive improvement through use of best and standard practices in ABS and Reliability Excellence tools.
  • Identify and report to the VP of Operations the opportunities for improvement in OEE and productivity.
  • Leverage other resources within Technology and Engineering team as well as other resources such as IT and Finance to drive effective and sustainable change in the operations.
  • Support the location with new supplier qualification and insourcing of downstream processes (ultrasonic inspection or short cutting saws).
