About The Position

Utz is pleased to announce an opportunity for a student to join the team this
summer as a Continuous Improvement Intern in Hanover, PA. Responsible for the
administration and support of Continuous Improvement (CI) activities. Provide
assistance to the team by contributing to current initiatives and completing
actions in related projects. Work closely with the CI team to help drive
operational efficiency and quality improvements across our production processes.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in any engineering major or a business management degree.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written) and collaborate with others.
• Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, organized, and possess the ability to prioritize activities.
• Must possess or have the aptitude and ability.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Become knowledgeable in processes, functions, and interactivity for the company’s MES, CMMS and other related production systems
• Support creation, maintenance, and organization of the Utz Performance Management System.
• Assist in the implementation of 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
• Help with the setting up of visual management systems to improve workflow and efficiency
• Collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for improvement, specifically in areas related to cleanliness, organization, and safety
• Provides support for ongoing system projects, enhancements, and CI improvement activities
• Assist with key system implementations and integrations at manufacturing facilities
• Responsible for providing support with office administration and performing operational tasks as needed
• Actively participate in data collection, analysis, and reporting related to CI initiatives
• Share responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor
