About The Position

McKesson is seeking a highly skilled Continuous Improvement Leader to drive operational excellence and support a culture of ongoing improvement within our Distribution Center (DC). In this strategic, people‑focused leadership role, you’ll partner closely with the Distribution Center Leader and Operations Managers to evaluate processes, streamline workflows, strengthen training programs, and maintain audit readiness. You’ll lead the development and execution of continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, utilize Lean Six Sigma principles, manage onboarding and training programs, and ensure regulatory compliance across the facility. This role plays a critical part in improving service levels, advancing operational performance, and guiding teams through meaningful, sustainable change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 9+ years of professional experience, including 1+ years of supervisory or management experience required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of distribution center processes and cross‑departmental interdependencies.
  • Strong proficiency with business software tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, reporting systems).
  • Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies; Green Belt or Black Belt experience .
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in a 24/7 warehouse environment.
  • Proven ability to investigate issues to root cause and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Strong critical‑thinking skills and the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, influence, and drive change across teams.
  • Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement and process optimization.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical, supply chain, or distribution industry experience.
  • 5+ years leadership experience in operations, CI, training, or quality is highly preferred
  • Hands‑on experience with workflow automation technology (JD Edwards, QC Software, or similar).
  • Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as FDA, OSHA, or Board of Pharmacy.
  • Experience with business analytics, project management, or structured change implementation.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key strategic partner to DC leadership, planning and executing continuous improvement initiatives across all functional areas.
  • Lead internal quality audits and implement process controls to enhance consistency, reduce variability, and strengthen operational compliance.
  • Evaluate, update, and standardize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with best practices and support organizational goals.
  • Manage, improve, and scale the onboarding and continuous training programs for new hires and existing team members.
  • Provide leadership and direction to onsite trainers responsible for new hire training, workflow coaching, and ongoing skill development.
  • Ensure the facility remains fully prepared for regulatory and compliance audits including state licensing, FDA, OSHA, and internal assessments.
  • Lead investigations into operational issues or customer concerns, identifying root causes and developing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Present operational updates, audit findings, project progress, and CI metrics to leadership and cross‑functional teams.
  • Support inventory control, product quality, and material accountability through effective process oversight.
  • Evaluate current procedures to identify inefficiencies, implement best‑practice solutions, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Partner with operations managers, supervisors, and cross‑functional groups to ensure alignment on CI goals and operational priorities.
