About The Position

Serve as a key member of the Plant Manager's staff, participating in critical decisions impacting site strategy, performance, and long-term viability. Capable of leading complex business process improvement kaizen events while having quick flexibility to lead point kaizen events for shop floor improvement. Daily participation in structured teir meetings, coaching and mentoring operations and broader business on waste identification, root-cause analysis with structured problem solving that generate positive improvement for core KPI's. Develop, own, and execute a five‑year manufacturing strategy for the South Milwaukee site, including creation of KAFs and CI project roadmaps that improve customer satisfaction and site competitiveness. Lead, coach, and manage the Continuous Improvement organization, including Lean Coordinators, CI Engineers, and CI Technicians. Lead and facilitate Lean manufacturing deployment across the enterprise, including Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, 5S+, structured problem solving, A3, root cause analysis, kaizen events, gemba walks, and rapid improvement activities. Own and sustain the Lean Six Sigma capability development pipeline, building Yellow, Green, and Black Belt proficiency at the site. Drive facility-wide cost-out targets through waste elimination, best-practice deployment, disciplined project execution, and accountability for results. Lead planning and execution activities to advance OpA manufacturing maturity scores and close capability gaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, prefer Engineering degree
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in a management position within a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of work-related experience with Lean Tools (5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Set-up Reduction, TPM, Lean Material Flow and Six Sigma).
  • Must be authorized to work in The United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Process focused with continuous improvement mindset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Visio, Project)
  • Project management, including full comprehension of the ProLaunch Process

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in managing large and complex manufacturing environments, where Configure to Order and Engineer to Order products are prevalent
  • Strong communication skills - use innovative techniques for influencing and driving change
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience as an OpA Assessor
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) Certifications
