We are guided by the vision to provide lifelong services for individuals with developmental disabilities. This is a contract position for 12 weeks. This position is not eligible for benefits. The schedules available are as follows: Days: Saturday, Sunday, Monday 6:00am - 6:30pm Days: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday 6:00am - 6:30pm Nights: Saturday. Sunday, Wednesday 6:00pm - 6:30am Nights: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:00pm - 6:30am The pay rates for these contract positions are: LPN - $35/hour RN - $41/hour

Requirements

  • Must have completed a minimum of one year as an RN/LPN.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school for Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) required
  • Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Florida required
  • Florida Driver’s License with no more than two moving violations in the past three years
  • Able to work in the US and not require Visa Sponsorship from our company now or in the future
  • Effectively communicate at all levels, write, and speak English using acceptable grammar, punctuation, and spelling, understand and follow multi-steps written and verbal instructions

Responsibilities

  • Complies with nursing policies and procedures to ensure nursing standards are met. Promotes optimal health for clients
  • Administers medications and treatments per physician’s orders and in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Administer medications via all routes, without restriction, including controlled substances
  • Must be able to assist clients with all health and medical devices, including but not limited to glasses, hearing devices, tracheotomies, G/J tubes, colostomies, urostomies, apnea monitors, CPAP machines, ventilators, oxygen, oxygen concentrators, nebulizer machines, suction devices, suctioning toothbrushes, etc.
  • Monitors clients for seizures, medication side effects, signs, and symptoms of illness, and provides necessary nursing interventions
  • Informs the physician of health status change/accidents, and injuries of clients. Notifies Director of Nursing or Health Care Coordinator of emergency situations
  • Assists with quality assurance reviews, files documents in charts, and purges charts
  • Assists with Respiratory Therapy and IV Therapy as needed to include pushing IV medications and mixing of IV medications
  • Assists with clinical evaluations and assessment of medication administration and /or understanding of medical procedures of clients
  • Attends and participates in meetings and trainings
  • Ensures client’s mealtime procedures and therapeutic positioning procedures, including client transfers, are followed
  • Reports to work for scheduled shifts. May be scheduled to work other shifts, holidays, and weekends to provide nursing coverage
  • Reports to work during inclement weather to provide nursing coverage and assist with emergency procedures
  • Participates in outings and appointments, including, but not limited to, loading, and unloading clients on and off vehicles, monitoring clients during transport, and assisting clients during outings
