Effective collaboration across many internal and external organizations is necessary to successfully support SRP construction and maintenance material requirements.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Experience as an Inventory Material Planner, Buyer, Procurement/Contract Analyst, Materials Manager, Procurement Management, Commodity Manager, Computer Programmer/Coder, Engineer, Database Manager or other similar disciplines is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the following is helpful: NERC CIP, specifically, CIP-013 cyber security standards for bulk electric system (BES) security Buy America / Build America Act (BABA) for all federally funded infrastructure projects under the guidelines of 2 CFR 184 and 200 applicable to FHWA (Federal Highway Administration), FTA (Federal Transit Administration) and IIJA (Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act) projects IEEPA and Executive Order 14257 relating to reciprocal tariffs FERC WECC USITC
  • For a Level 1 (Associate), a minimum of no previous years of experience to two years related experience is required (if no degree, four-six years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling four-six years).
  • For a Level 2 (Journey), a minimum of two years of experience to four years related experience is required (if no degree, six-eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling six-eight years).
  • For a Level 3 (Senior), a minimum of five years of related experience is required (if no degree, nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling nine years).
  • Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor.
  • Promotion to Level 3 requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and synthesize market intelligence for assigned commodities and materials
  • Facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with internal customers to ensure required material is available where and when needed
  • Apply material planning concepts (MRP, Safety Stock, etc.) to ensure optimal inventory level
  • Utilize various forecasting methods as well as statistical analysis to anticipate future demand
  • Optimize inventory levels across various storage locations
  • Maintain accurate lead times
  • Set up new parts in the planning system in a timely manner and process obsolete parts
  • Provide Material Planning input to Purchasing Contract Analysts during sourcing initiatives
  • Monitor Supplier performance and elevate any concerns to the appropriate level in Purchasing
  • Proficient use of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Access
  • Familiarity with IBM Maximo (WAM) functionality
  • Proficiently use various material planning platforms (SAP, FGS)
  • Ensure strong and ethical relationships are maintained with all suppliers
  • Comply with corporate policies and procedures
