About The Position

Key Responsibilities Oversight of all accounting activities, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and financial planning and analysis Ensures accurate and timely reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Company Partners with outside insurance, legal, CPA firms and other business Prepares annual budget and provides monthly performance analysis Leads annual preparation of federal and state income tax returns for company Serves as key interface with project, division, cost center and subsidiary personnel, providing accounting support as needed Maintains robust internal controls in compliance with company policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements (including federal, state and local income, sales and payroll taxes) Oversight of Company ERP and accounting platforms, driving automation and process improvement as needed and opportunity arise Leads and develops the accounting team this includes hiring, performance reviews and training As a key partner this role provides strategic and executive advice as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting experience , minimum 5 years in Controller role
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Experience with 401K, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), annual reporting, filings, regulatory requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Hands-on experience with ERP accounting software and financial databases
  • Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle accounting and month-end/year-end close processes
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to the Leadership team
  • Ability to direct, supervise, and mentor accounting staff in a hands-on environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
