About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Controls Engineer Intern - 1st Shift to join our team located in Rice Lake, WI. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 7am-3:30pm. We Offer You! Hours & Pay w/ overtime potential Fast paced environment Variation of job tasks The company LIVES its values The hourly wage for this position is: $23 per hour What Success Looks Like: Manage total project activities with a planned schedule for timely completion. Develop and design electrical power, control, and safety systems in accordance with NEC, NFP 79, and UL508 codes and standards to meet the customers’ process and equipment requirements. Create, modify, and install PLC, VFD, and Operator Interface programs to create machine control for the user. Create electrical schematics, 2D drawings, and 3D models of equipment for wiring, fabrication, and assembly of equipment utilizing AutoCAD and Solidworks software. Operate and maintain CAD equipment and data efficiently and productively. Assemble, test, and troubleshoot equipment before delivery to ensure the highest quality and performance Your Credentials: Pursuing Bachelor of Science Degree in a directly related engineering field or an Associate Degree related to electrical and controls for machine function Experience with metal fabrication and equipment. Good organizational skills and the ability to deal with multiple priorities. Ability to influence and induce cooperation in all environments. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to operate efficiently within a CAD environment. Knowledge of SolidWorks a plus. Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor of Science Degree in a directly related engineering field or an Associate Degree related to electrical and controls for machine function
  • Experience with metal fabrication and equipment.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to deal with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to influence and induce cooperation in all environments.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate efficiently within a CAD environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks a plus.
