Compensation The compensation target for this role is: $31.00 - $36.50 Job Summary The Controls Specialist will assist with all the technical work with respect to automation projects and service provided to the Operations team. The role of Controls Specialists comes with a variety of different responsibilities and options to pursue many career paths.

Requirements

  • Associated Degree in an Automation/Electrical program is recommended
  • 0-1 years of experience in a related field
  • Possesses a strong ability to work independently, as well as part of a high functioning maintenance and engineering team.
  • Use a variety of electrical test instruments especially multi-meters, personal computer, hand power tools, grinders, forklift truck, man lift, hoists and hand tools.
  • Ability to read Electrical Drawings, as well as redline the drawings as field modifications are made, inform engineering of changes on the drawings, turn in drawings for drawing updates.
  • Familiar with PLC Ladder logic, able to follow program flow.
  • Able to Set short term priorities in responding to plant breakdowns and coordinate with operations supervisor.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with injection molding and Extruding machinery a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install and hook-up manufacturing equipment, exercising care as to size of motors, voltage requirements, and balance circuits for proper power distribution.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical and electrical components.
  • Diagnose nature of problem, perform a variety of electrical test procedures, disassemble equipment and replace defective parts, make connections, reassemble and test.
  • Able to take call outs for machine brake-downs (all hours).
  • Work closely with engineering to alter and modify production machinery.
  • Perform daily inspections of all equipment plant wide to identify possible equipment problems.
  • Pull parts as required from stock, notify purchasing clerk or supervisor when to reorder parts.
