About The Position

As a controls systems technician with Johnson Controls, you will perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. You will troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems and respond to basic warranty calls. You will load system-level controller software, perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (such as sensors, actuators, etc.), and complete all required commissioning documentation. You will keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues, calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, and complete administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. You will document changes and provide information for as-built documentation, communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site, and follow all safety standards while attending required safety training. A high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety is expected.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude.
  • Able to use hand and power tools (i.e. drills, saws, etc.).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Low voltage 0-24 volts/120 volt wiring skills preferred.
  • Ability to test, troubleshoot and check systems with a Multi-meter.
  • HVAC experience preferred.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Visio.
