Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency required
  • 3-6 months related experience in food preparation or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service-focused with an outgoing personality
  • Ability to multi-task and manage detail-oriented tasks
  • Intermediate computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food according to resident diet specifications, menus, and facility procedures
  • Review menus prior to food preparation and ensure accurate portioning
  • Direct and assist dietary staff in food preparation, serving, and cleaning
  • Ensure sanitation of dishes, utensils, work areas, and equipment
  • Check meal trays for accuracy with diet cards
  • Maintain proper storage of foods and supplies, ensuring readiness for upcoming meals
  • Assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies
  • Review diet changes and adjust menus as necessary
  • Collaborate with Dietary Manager and team to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient kitchen
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
