About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for preparing assigned products to include breakfast items, noon meal items, and evening meal items, and for cleaning and sanitizing the production area. Items created in this area can significantly affect the nutritional quality and acceptance level of patient diets.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read, understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
  • Knowledge of acceptable food handling, food service, safety, and sanitation standards and practices.
  • ability to perform moderate physical labor
  • ability to work in a repetitive motion, walking long distances, occasional lifting of objects 10 to 35 pounds, standing 1 1/2 hours in the same place, bending and stooping.
  • Knowledge of the uses and adaptability of the various pieces of equipment including kettles, convection ovens, convection steamers, braising pans, mixer, food processors, slicers and deep fryers
  • Education and/or experience in food preparation that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade equivalent to one year of experience in a commercial and/or institutional setting.
