About The Position

Position Summary: The Cook works under general supervision and prepares, seasons, and cooks food for Hospital patients, employees, and visitors. Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes, using a variety of manual and/or electric kitchen utensils and equipment,

Requirements

  • Work requires a level of math and English normally acquired through the completion of an eighth grade education.
  • Work requires one to two years cooking experience in any large food service operation.
  • Work requires knowledge of basic cooking techniques and the ability to operate kitchen equipment and machinery.
  • Work requires the ability to read and follow instructions.
  • Requires the ability to operate standard kitchen machinery, read menus, work schedules and prices.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with hospital patients, visitors and staff and to provide courteous services.
