As our Cook, you will prepare the meal and guide our dietary aides in the correct preparation, presentation & distribution of those meals from our professional kitchen. As our Cook your duties would include: Using your skills to freshly prepare appetizing meals for our residents. Following all sanitary regulations as established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, to ensure that the meals are not only appealing to see and to eat but have been safely prepared. Following our residents’ individualized meal plans by using specialized recipes to adhere to any diet restrictions and ensuring all items are present for meal service. Operating standard kitchen equipment safety according to training and experience (We observe all state & federal age requirements for the operation of power-driven equipment). Adhering to all sanitation and food production codes. Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, utensils, dishware, and appliances.

Requirements

Prior cooking experience is required; in a long-term care or senior care facility preferred.
A positive, upbeat attitude and the ability to cooperate with others in a fast-paced environment
Strong and courteous customer service skills, to work within a diverse workforce while providing that service to our residents, family members, vendors, and coworkers.
Strong attention to detail
Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
