About The Position

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary The Communications Coordinator will implement internal communications best practices for the Archdiocese of St. Louis; serve as the first point of contact for general inquires to the Office of Communications; and provide executive assistance as needed for the Office of Communications leadership team. The Communications Coordinator will report to the Director of Community & Media Engagement; collaborate with other Communications Office members and external vendors; and serve as a key internal communications partner to the many offices, agencies and ministries of the archdiocese.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience (internships may be considered)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Professional discretion and ability to handle confidential information
  • Practicing Catholic with knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic faith

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and email marketing platforms preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and distribute twice-weekly internal e-memos to clergy and Curia employees
  • Coordinate and distribute twice-weekly news summaries to senior leaders
  • Provide internal communications support, including best practices guidance and platform training
  • Offer communications counsel to archdiocesan offices, agencies, and ministries
  • Manage the Communications Office inbox and respond to inquiries promptly and appropriately
  • Support adoption of communications platforms in collaboration with internal teams and vendors
  • Assist with urgent or sensitive communications (drafting, proofreading, distribution)
  • Prepare analytics reports and complete research projects as assigned
  • Draft communications materials as needed
  • Assist with planning and execution of major communications campaigns
  • Provide executive assistance to Communications leadership
