The Opportunity Coordinates and performs FAR 145 repair station overhaul and repair functions in conjunction with FAR 147 training activities, while coordinating the selection and hiring of repair station personnel to meet both production and training needs. Assists in maintaining the Repair Station Procedures Manual and updating FAA and Manufacturer’s publications, and performs and supervises overhaul and repair activities within the repair station.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Aviation Maintenance
  • 1-3 years of work related experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform and supervise overhaul and repair activities within the repair station.
  • Coordinates activities of Crew-chief, mechanics, and student mechanics in a manner that effectively meets both the production and training needs of the university.
  • Train assist and supervise technicians in proper work procedures and practices.
  • Verify that the work is performed in accordance with the applicable technical data.
  • Ensure appropriate completion of maintenance records.
  • Ensure assigned technicians have the appropriate tools and maintenance data for performing assigned tasks.
  • Ensure that proper data is being used at any time during the performance of work.
  • Ensure personnel have appropriate experience or knowledge or are properly trained prior to assigning maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration tasks.
  • Ensure the proper review is made of materials and parts that are to be stocked for installation on civil aviation articles.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for parts and consumable materials.
  • Ensure storage and preservation of all articles, materials, parts, and supplies in their designated location.
  • Issue purchase orders as necessary.
  • Verify consumable materials are within their shelf life and labeled appropriately.
  • Control and distribute the inventory technical information documents or data.
  • Ensure that completed work is appropriately packed and shipped.
