Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Coordinator of Accommodated Testing & Assessment at its Detroit campus location. The Coordinator, Accommodated Testing and Assessment within the Office of Student Disability Services (SDS) is responsible for overseeing the administration of accommodated testing services for students with disabilities. This role also includes leading the office's assessment practices and supporting grant reporting efforts to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity, student success, and continuous improvement in support of the university’s mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Disability Services, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in disability services, accommodated testing, or a related area in higher education.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws regarding disability services in postsecondary education, including ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Demonstrated experience with assessment practices, data analysis, and grant reporting.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for students with disabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the scheduling, coordination, and administration of accommodated tests for students registered with SDS
  • Ensure all testing accommodations are provided in accordance with documented student needs and legal requirements.
  • Maintain and manage testing facilities, ensuring they meet accessibility standards.
  • Develop and implement procedures for secure handling of exams and maintaining academic integrity.
  • Lead the design and implementation of assessment practices to evaluate the effectiveness of services provided by SDS
  • Collect, analyze, and report data related to student accommodations, service utilization, and student outcomes.
  • Support grant reporting activities by collecting and organizing relevant data
  • Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and assist in the preparation of grant proposals and progress reports.
  • Supervise and train staff members involved in the delivery of accommodated testing services.
  • Serve as a liaison between SDS and faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to promote awareness and understanding of accommodated testing policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other university departments to enhance the support and resources available to students with disabilities.
  • Stay current with trends, legislation, and best practices in disability services and accommodated testing
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and represent Wayne State University at relevant conferences and meetings.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance the quality and accessibility of SDS services.
  • Other duties as assigned.
