About The Position

The Work-Study/Outreach Coordinator in the Office of Student Assistance will use the Guided Pathway model to coordinate and monitor all work-study positions and placement of students. Ensure compliance with federal, state and institutional policies and regulation. Coordinates and monitors all facets of the work-study process, including payroll, work authorization, job descriptions, off-campus contracts and timesheets. Reconciles federal and state work study accounts monthly with the Finance Office and prepares monthly student usage reports. Communicates with work-study supervisors and departments on hiring work-study students and timesheet procedures. Coordinates outreach projects while identifying community partners to collaborate with to ensure the ACC district and surrounding area continue to be educated on the benefits of Financial aid.

  • Reviewing financial aid applications and determining eligibility.
  • Performing general clerical activities associated with financial aid services.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Determining individual benefit eligibility.
  • Ability to multi-task and/or lead projects to ensure they are completed within timeframe and budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both internal and external groups with a cultural, racial and ethnically background.
  • Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
  • Use student information and database systems.
  • Two years related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of the Federal/State Work-Study program.
  • Responsible for the management of 1.2 million dollars in Federal/State work-study funds which includes full allocation and redistribution of aid if necessary.
  • Maintains work-study job descriptions, pay rates, job placement.
  • Collaborates with departments to create work study positions opportunities which align with student's Area of Study.
  • Confers with potential employers to communicate objectives of the work-study program.
  • Counsels students using the Guided Pathway model to foster the development of satisfactory job performance.
  • Identifies Business & Industry partners to establish off-campus work study positions related to student's Area of Study.
  • Audits work-study files stored on campus to ensure readiness and completeness.
  • Trains financial aid staff on work-study policies, procedures and updates.
  • Grants access to campus staff for necessary tools needed to process work-study files.
  • Liaison between financial aid and human resources.
  • Coordinates work-study orientation for students and supervisors annually; one on one orientations conducted as needed.
  • Assists to reconcile student information in financial aid database with payroll and accounting records.
  • Assembles data for periodic reports on payroll activity and categories of expense, especially for detailed facts and figures provided in the annual FISAP report that determines the level of federal work-study funding for the following year.
  • Represents the financial aid office at open house, college fairs, high school nights, Riverbat Access, and all other on or off campus events pertaining to new student enrollment.
  • Collaborates with the campuses and Financial Aid district leadership to identify potential community partners to assist with educating the ACC district members about financial aid opportunities.
  • Coordinates internal outreach projects to include staffing, monitoring, and communications with internal departments.
  • Attends outreach functions and participated in events that are geared towards increasing student access to financial aid resources.
  • Provides measurable outcomes regarding financial aid outreach programs with the intent to assist toward the increase of financial aid recipients at ACC with the assistance of enrollment management.
  • Recognizes emerging trends in work-study and outreach and prepare for changes that may occur as a result of these trends.
  • May supervise hourly employees.
