Management Level: Class 6 Title: Lead – Full-Time – Portland, IN 47371 ATTN Team Members: This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. Team Members hired into part time positions are not eligible to bid on promotional positions and/or transfers for a period of 6 months. Description: The starting pay for this position is $25.10/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift. POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead is responsible for providing guidance to their team by assisting, training, and encouraging all their Team Members to work safely and efficiently on a daily basis.

  • Internal Openings for this position will be posted for three (3) working days (Tues-Thurs) utilizing Workday system for application process.
  • Openings for this position will be filled by the most qualified, eligible bidder per Tyson’s Job Bidding Policy.
  • Bidding disqualifiers include having: · More than four (4) attendance points · Active written warning within the last three (3) months · Written warning with suspension within the last six (6) months · Less than six months in current position (unless promotional position).
  • TM WILL HAVE A FIVE (5) DAY TRIAL PERIOD IN POSITION; after the five-day period, TM must remain in position, bid on promotional position (not guaranteed), or demote by completing a Status Change Form, notifying HR, and being transferred to any available GPW position.
  • If self-demote, TM will be placed on a six (6) month “freeze” in which he/she cannot bid on any other positions. This applies as soon as TM completes five day qualification period in position.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and assists operators for start-up, shut down or change overs
  • Assist and troubleshoot with all jobs
  • Maintains accurate records on log sheets and in a computer-based system
  • Understands how to read and follow production schedule
  • Responsible for inspecting areas of responsibility for possible foreign material issues and promptly notifies Supervisor and QC of any contamination
  • Ensures break schedule and job rotation of team members
  • Ensure product specifications are met in accordance with customers written specifications
  • Ability to assist Team Members while developing and maintaining positive professional relationships
  • Collect and compile TPS data to present in daily Tier 3 meeting
  • Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
  • Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable
  • Must be able to operate a Power Industrial Truck
  • Communicate with various departments on a regular basis
  • Required to use and read scales, rulers, PH meter and moisture analyzer
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Requires basic PC skills to include reading/sending emails
