About The Position

Reporting to the VP, Finance (US) with a dotted line to the Director of Group Tax, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting business decision-making, and maintaining robust financial controls for our US entities. You will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial statements, compliance with US tax and regulatory requirements, and supporting the finance and tax teams in delivering timely and insightful reporting.

Requirements

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification required; other US accounting credentials (e.g., CMA) are a plus.
  • At least 3+ years’ post-qualification experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Good knowledge of sales tax; experience of filing sales tax returns preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Proactive, positive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for US entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and maintenance of supporting documentation.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators relevant to finance and operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business projects and provide financial expertise.
  • Assist in month, quarter and year end closing processes.
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns and manage tax registrations.
  • Prepare and file quarterly Commercial Rent Tax returns
  • Support the US tax team with state notices, preparing income tax returns, and external state audits by providing required information
  • File state tax extensions, quarterly estimated state tax payments, and corporate state tax returns ensuring required signatures have been captured and payments remitted
  • Track and maintain tax calendar to ensure timely compliance with deadlines
  • Direct liaison with Business Support (UK Based) accounts payable and receivable function, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Liaise with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during audits.
  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems and process improvements for US operations.
  • Contribute to ad hoc financial projects and analysis as required.
