About The Position

Franklin Electric is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Accounting Intern to join our Corporate Accounting team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting key accounting functions within a global organization. The intern will assist with transactional accounting activities, preparation of month-end close journal entries, supporting workpapers, account reconciliations, and both internal and external financial reporting. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to develop practical accounting skills, collaborate with experienced finance professionals, and gain exposure to the processes that support accurate and timely financial reporting in a dynamic corporate environment.

• Intermediate knowledge of accounting and financial statements
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to complete some moderately repetitive tasks
• Task oriented self-starter
• Junior or Senior status currently pursuing a degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field (required).
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience using pivot tables (required).
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (required).

• Active participation in extracurricular activities aligned with area of study (preferred).
• GPA of 3.2 or higher (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Enter transactions into various accounting systems
• Preparation of: journal entries, supporting workpapers, and reconciliations
• Month end analysis and reporting
• Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned, focusing on Corporate Accounting process improvement initiatives
• Assist with SEC filings, as needed
• Collaborate with other accounting staff to support overall department goals and objectives
