The Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice and counsel to business units and management on topics that may include commercial contracting, marketing activities, compliance, litigation and dispute resolution, employment and corporate governance. Exact scope of duties will vary depending on needs of the business. The General Counsel’s office is located in Lake Oswego, Oregon, but remote options will be considered.

Requirements

  • Specialized Knowledge Required: Commercial contracts Litigation Project management
  • Juris Doctor from nationally recognized law school and current license to practice law.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a large law firm and/or corporate legal department

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts including sales, distribution, employment and service agreements.
  • Work collaboratively on all aspects of the litigation process from case inception through closure including e-discovery and litigation holds, witness preparation and motion practice, budgets and external counsel, case strategy and settlements.
  • Engage with business stakeholders on new products, sales strategies, marketing, and regulatory issues.
  • Assist in the implementation of technology and processes within Legal Department, including maintaining external counsel management program and e-billing system.
  • Advise and counsel business clients and management on legal issues.
  • Support General Counsel on major projects and other ad hoc organizational assignments.
  • Support other attorneys on various matters as needed.
