About The Position

Corporate Affairs Intern - Public Policy Research will work with the Walmart's Global Public Policy Team to conduct research and provide logistical support to the policy team and the PolicyLab. In this position, you will be a temporary associate working to provide research, logistical, and strategic support for the Walmart Policy Lab and the Global Policy Team. The Walmart PolicyLab is an incubator of ideas at the intersection of the public, private and non-profit sectors aimed at operationalizing Stakeholder Capitalism. We are looking for one spring semester Corporate Intern, from February to May, for a total of 10 weeks, 20 hours/week. Location: This position will be fully onsite in Washington, D.C.

Requirements

  • You are a candite for a Masters in public policy or international affairs
  • You have relevant globally oriented work experience in business or international relations for private sector, government, NGOs, trade associations, or similar
  • You have experience cultivating and managing stakeholder relationships with trust and integrity
  • You have excellent research and communication skills
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • BA/BS in social science, government, international relations, or business

Responsibilities

  • Secure advocacy opportunities and logistics for engagements
  • Submit written reporting to Walmart executives
  • Carry out stakeholder mappings in key issue areas
  • Contribute to complex and time-sensitive deliverables and programs
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and outreach
