About The Position

The Corporate Accounting Manager oversees the integrity of the company’s general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies. This role manages the month‑end close, supervises GL staff, and partners with finance and business leaders to support audits, controls, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
  • Typically 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or corporate general ledger experience.
  • Solid technical knowledge of US GAAP (or relevant local GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the month‑end close and managing general ledger processes in a multi‑entity or multi‑location environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and strong Excel skills; experience with consolidation and reporting tools is a plus.
  • Proven people‑management experience, including coaching, delegation, and workload prioritization.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring all journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Oversee maintenance of the general ledger, including review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules.
  • Prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal reporting standards.
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls over financial reporting, including documentation of policies, procedures, and key controls.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, internal audits, and other reviews, providing schedules, explanations, and documentation as needed.
  • Manage intercompany accounting, consolidations, and eliminations; ensure proper recording, reconciliation, and resolution of intercompany balances.
  • Oversee accounting for key areas such as fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, leases, and other general corporate accounts.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities across the close and reporting cycle to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Partner with FP&A and other finance teams to ensure consistency between management reporting and actuals and to provide variance explanations.
  • Collaborate with IT and systems teams on GL‑related system changes, chart of accounts structure, and reporting enhancements.
  • Develop, mentor, and evaluate GL accounting staff, providing technical guidance, training, and performance feedback.
