About The Position

The Corporate Materials and Inventory Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, and execution of inventory management and materials control across all Gregory Industries manufacturing and distribution locations. This role ensures inventory accuracy, storage integrity, and disciplined transaction execution across receiving, production, and shipping operations. The position serves as the enterprise champion for ERP accuracy, inventory controls, cycle counting, and standardized warehouse processes, while driving continuous improvement through data‑driven reporting and cross‑functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in inventory management, materials management, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi‑site operations.
  • Strong ERP experience with hands‑on responsibility for inventory transactions and controls.
  • Proven ability to design and sustain cycle count and inventory accuracy programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and process‑improvement skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in metals, industrial manufacturing, or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, APICS (CPIM/CSCP), or similar certifications.
  • Experience leading or supporting ERP implementations or major system upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Own and govern enterprise‑wide inventory accuracy across all sites, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and financial controls.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve inventory control policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely inventory transactions at all inventory touchpoints, including: Receiving Production consumption and reporting Inter‑site transfers Shipping and customer fulfillment
  • Partner with Finance and Purchasing to support accurate inventory valuation, audits, and physical inventory processes.
  • Design, implement, and manage a robust cycle count program across all locations.
  • Define cycle count strategies (ABC classification, frequency, tolerances, root‑cause analysis).
  • Lead reconciliation and corrective action processes to address inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure consistent execution and accountability at each site.
  • Provide functional leadership for warehouse operations, focusing on: Storage integrity and location accuracy Material handling best practices FIFO/lot control compliance Space utilization and layout optimization
  • Standardize warehouse processes across sites while allowing for operational flexibility where required.
  • Act as the corporate champion for ERP inventory and materials modules.
  • Ensure master data accuracy (items, BOMs, routings, locations, units of measure).
  • Partner with IT, Operations, and Finance on system enhancements, upgrades, and issue resolution related to inventory and materials management.
  • Train and coach site teams on proper ERP usage and transaction discipline.
  • Develop and maintain standardized inventory and materials reporting across all sites.
  • Monitor and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), including but not limited to: Inventory accuracy Inventory turns Obsolescence and excess inventory Cycle count performance Transaction error rates
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership to support decision‑making and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives related to materials flow, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
  • Identify systemic issues and drive root‑cause corrective actions.
  • Support lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Share best practices across locations and ensure consistent execution.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and IT teams.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and capacity expansions from an inventory and materials perspective.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert during audits, system implementations, and operational reviews.
