Overview: Summer Interns complete a 10 week internship centered around professional development, career growth and building the necessary skills to succeed. Summer Interns participate in projects and department initiatives that accelerate career growth and play an important role in building the future of the Bank. As an Intern, you will gain exposure to other departments through guest speakers and industry leaders and a built-in network with peers as well as priority consideration for full time opportunities throughout the Bank. Loss Mitigation Operations Department Functions: Underwriting- Reviews borrower’s request for mortgage assistance who are interested in retaining their property. Responsible for calculating income and determining which mortgage assistance option is the best fit for the borrower following investor/insurer guidelines. Determines eligibility for streamline/deferral options as well as responsible for monitoring payment plans. The Quality Assurance team is responsible for accuracy of all decisions. Liquidation- Determines eligibility for liquidation options on defaulted loans and loans in imminent default. Closes liquidation options in adherence with investor and regulatory requirements. Document and Control- Works with our vendors to draft modification documents. Reviews and QC’s executed modification/partial claim documents for accuracy and initiates recording with county clerks' offices. Manages HUD Demands and GNMA exceptions for re-pooling of closed loan modifications. System Updates- Monitors the loan once the documents are returned and assigned by the Document Preparation team. Ensures that the loan is closed in accordance with regulatory and investor requirements. Ensures that the system is updated to reflect the new terms of the loan. The Quality Assurance Team is responsible for accuracy of all closings.
