Role Overview The Sr. Account Executive role is a key part of our Group Benefit Solutions distribution organization that focuses on managing business relationships on inforce client’s mid/large size. (500-4,999 lives) The Account Executive will ensure exceptional service with clients and local brokers and is responsible for proactive growth (upselling and cross-selling), as well as the profitability and retention on an assigned book of business. We are seeking a candidate that is a self-starter who likes building relationships and driving sales opportunities that will thrive in a fast-paced environment. Preferred candidate location is within the Great Lakes Region (Western New York, Pittsburg, Ohio)

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to use and present technology and online tools effectively
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • A customer-focused approach, organizational agility, problem-solving ability, and perseverance
  • The ability to travel domestically and overnight up to 30%

  • BA/BS degree (preferred)
  • Experience in Life/Accident/Disability/Leave (preferred)
  • Relevant licenses

Responsibilities

  • Act as a knowledgeable resource regarding internal and external systems and processes to meet client needs.

  • Collaborate with underwriting, sales, and service partners within a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrate strong active listening, written, and verbal skills.
  • Identify and present client growth opportunities, ensuring successful implementation with matrix partners.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritizing as necessary.
  • Stay informed about insurance coverages, products, and industry updates to provide exceptional client and broker service.
  • Drive profitable growth and retention through deep client and producer relationships.
  • Participate in the renewal process, including negotiations and policy changes.
  • Attend industry events to expand knowledge and relationships.
  • Maintain compliance tracking and participate in new hire and ongoing training.
  • Mentor others and contribute to special projects and process improvements.
  • Foster team success while achieving individual goals, maintaining honesty and respect in all dealings.
  • Communicate effectively to enhance productivity and build respectful relationships.
