About The Position

This position is assigned to Career and Technical Education (CTE) and reports to the Dean of Business, Industry, Human Servies and Applied Design. The counselor provides advising and counseling support services to students in this division including but not limited to academic advising, career counseling, crisis triage and personal counseling,

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling or counseling psychology.

  • This position requires successful completion of employment references and a driver’s license background check.

  • Maintain an academic advising load and assist students with academic planning, major/program selection, course registration, educational goal setting, navigate institutional and systemic policies and procedures, learn academic skills, persistence, retention, graduation, and/or transfer.

  • Work independently within the division to support a diverse student population in the areas of personal counseling, academic advising, career counseling, and crisis triage.

  • Facilitate workshops and/or support groups on a variety of psychoeducational and holistic wellness topics within the Division.
  • Provide crisis triage support and referrals when students face personal challenges that affect their ability to engage academically.
  • Actively serve as the counselor liaison within the Division.
  • Participate in faculty service to the college and broader community, including committee work, partnerships, and institutional initiatives.
