The UALC Counselor provides a comprehensive counseling program for high school students and provides services to meet the needs of all students. Responsibilities include consultation with teachers, staff and parents to provide support in the areas including but not limited to assessment, EDPs, progress monitoring and career counseling. Work with students to create and maintain Educational Development Plan. Assign students appropriate courses to meet graduaiton requirements. Monitor student attendance and work with families as needed. Review student progress and meet with students and parents as needed. Assist with any state and building-wide assessments as needed. Assist in master scheduling under direction of Program Administrator. Support implementation of student 504 plans. Participate in all building professional development. Participate in all district professional development as directed. Ensure that all transcripts are up to date. Oversee graduation process with Utica Alternative Learning Center (UALC) Administrator. Perform other duties as assigned.
