Counselor – Women’s Trauma PHP (Day Program) Location: High Focus Centers – Jenkintown, PA Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (In-Person) Compensation: $53,000–$55,000 annually (commensurate with experience and credentials) About High Focus Centers High Focus Centers in Jenkintown is a leading provider of outpatient behavioral healthcare, offering specialized treatment for trauma, mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Counselor to join our Women’s Trauma Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). This role provides the opportunity to work closely with adult women with trauma histories in a structured, daytime setting. The Counselor will facilitate group and individual therapy, complete clinical assessments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support each client’s treatment journey. The ideal candidate is trauma-informed, confident in group facilitation, and passionate about creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field (required)
  • Completion of a clinically based internship or practicum (required)
  • Experience providing trauma-informed care and working with women’s mental health needs (preferred)
  • Training or certification in trauma-informed care is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily PHP group therapy sessions using evidence-based, trauma-focused modalities (CBT, DBT, CPT, etc.)
  • Provide individual counseling sessions as clinically indicated
  • Complete intake evaluations and level-of-care assessments (approximately 4–6 per week)
  • Develop, implement, and maintain individualized treatment plans
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Complete insurance reviews and ensure timely, accurate clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a consistent and supportive therapeutic milieu
