The Counter Associate role is ideal for those with trade experience looking to move away from installs and into a steady, hands-on position. You’ll provide excellent customer service while processing, picking, and staging customer orders, supporting counter, warehouse, and yard operations in a safe and organized environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or
  • 1–2 years of related experience and training; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to pass operator exam and safely operate powered industrial equipment.
  • Must pass a substance abuse screening.
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, talk, hear, grasp, handle, reach, and use fingers.
  • Regularly required to sit, climb, bend, stoop, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must perform essential job functions safely and with consistent alertness.
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color vision.
  • Work performed primarily indoors with occasional outdoor exposure to extreme weather.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an excellent customer experience by meeting or exceeding customer expectations
  • Assist counter customers by answering questions, identifying needs, and processing sales orders
  • Pick, package, and stage customer orders accurately and efficiently, typically within one hour of order release
  • Understand warehouse/yard layout, bin locations, and product inventory
  • Verify orders, label materials, complete documentation, and stage orders in designated locations
  • Handle materials carefully to prevent damage, shipping errors, and inventory discrepancies
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and follow all safety procedures
  • Support stocking, cleanliness, and organization of the counter, warehouse, and yard
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships and support product promotions
  • Assist warehouse and other team members as needed
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and work safely at all times
