Shift: Courier III, 10a- 6:30p, Monday thru Friday; Rotating Holidays Description RESPONSIBILITIES: Efficiently and safely transports biological specimens, pharmacy treatments and medical documents among hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities, using technology/equipment to achieve complete specimen transport tracking while maintaining accurate documentation (from pick up to delivery). Upholds the values of the organization including providing and demonstrating exemplary customer service skills throughout the preanalytical process. Works comfortably under tight deadlines and adheres to structured route to consistently meet time schedules ensuring punctual pick-up and delivery. Responsible for assigned Emory Medical Laboratory vehicle including operation, inspection (pre/post trip), load, unload, maintenance and cleanliness. Participates in mentoring and training new employees. Assists in maintaining of assigned vehicles. Has schedule flexibility as needed. Demonstrates an understanding and knowledge of relevant medical terminology to ensure specimen integrity is maintained during specimen transport including transport temperature, management of biohazardous materials and accurate delivery to laboratory departments. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Some college preferred. Previous laboratory, medical courier or other courier experience highly preferred. Good customer service and verbal communication skills are required. Basic abilities with computer and communication devices, i.e. iPhones, required. Will be communicating with team members, clinic leaders, and clinicians. Clean driving record, drug test and background check required. Requirements

  • Basic abilities with computer and communication devices, i.e. iPhones, required.
  • Clean driving record, drug test and background check required.
