THE ROLE: As a member of the Hudson Valley Design Center Cores team, you will help bring to life cutting-edge designs. As a member of the Physical Design team, you will work closely with the architecture, IP design, front-end design/integration teams, and product engineers to achieve first pass silicon success. THE PERSON: You have excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through technical publications, presentations, trainings, executive briefings, etc. You are highly adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and engineers alike, ready to mentor and guide, and help to elevate the knowledge and skills of the team around you.

  • Experience and understanding of flow development and scripting.
  • Strong Technical problem and debugging solving.
  • Understanding of Place & Route, Timing Analysis, Clock Tree Distribution, Physical Verification, Chip Integration.
  • Experience with Tcl, Perl, and Shell scripting.
  • 10 years experience in Physical Design and PD Team Leadership
  • Multiple Tape Out Cycles
  • Test Site Project Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Outstanding foundation in Systems & SoC architecture, with expertise in one or more of the following: CPU or GPU, Memory sub-system, Fabrics, CPU/GPU coherency, Multimedia, I/O subsystems, Clocks, Resets, Virtualization and Security
  • Experience analyzing CPU, GPU or System-level Micro-Architectural features to identify performance bottlenecks within different workloads
  • Demonstrated expertise in power management microarchitecture, low power design and power optimization, along with power impact at architecture, logic design, and circuit levels
  • Excellent communication, management, and presentation skills.
  • Adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and senior architects with strong interpersonal skills to work across teams in different geographies
  • Working experience on CAD tools from Synopsys, Cadence and/or Mentor Graphics required.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to independently and efficiently drive challenging and time critical tasks to on-time completion.

Responsibilities

  • Define product features and capabilities, close architecture, and micro-architecture requirements, drive technical specifications for SoC and IP blocks to meet those requirements, and provide technical direction to execution teams
  • Work cross functionally with IP/Domain architects to identify and assess complex technical issues/risks and develop architectural solutions to achieve product requirements
  • Bring deep knowledge and experience in Physical design and apply them to large, challenging, leading-edge designs to ensure high quality on time delivery.
  • Bring significant experience in effective team leadership to help mentor, coach and grow the HVDC Physical Design Team with an emphasis on positive influence on team morale.
  • Technically manage different aspects of Physical Design including Chip Level Floor planning, Bus / Pin Planning, Clock Tree Synthesis, Placement, Optimization, Routing, Parasitic Extraction, Static Timing Analysis, IR drop analysis, Physical Verification and Sign Off.
  • Experience and understanding of flow development and scripting.
  • Strong Technical problem and debugging solving.
