Nucor Steel West Virginia’s greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Crane Electrical Maintenance who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do. The selected teammate will ensure the success of the team by SAFELY performing Preventative and Corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems. During construction, maintenance electricians will help build the mill and create our computerized maintenance management system to ensure proper design criteria and equipment reliability.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' industrial maintenance experience.
  • Fundamental Electrical Theory knowledge.
  • Experience Troubleshooting 480V Motors and Controls.
  • Have the ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Steel Mill experience.
  • 2-year or 4-year degree in electrical or related field.
  • Experience with Magnetek or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to challenges in the steel making process with a focus on safety, reliability, quality, costs, and project management.
  • Perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting and periodic maintenance on equipment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation, AC/DC variable frequency drives, motors & control systems
  • Train teammates on new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment
  • Have the ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
