About The Position

Prepares goods for shipment to customers by assembling or building containers, properly packing the containers, and attaching labels and necessary markings to prevent loss. Operates powered industrial truck (forklift) to load and unload material. Uses hand tools, hoist/crane and power equipment including table saws, radial arm saws, panel saws and pneumatic tools to assemble or build containers to be used for shipment of flow products. Weighs packages, containers and crates, attaches labels, and marks containers for shipment. Keeps track of inventory in work area, and notifies supervisor when material is needed. Identifies and reports defective products. Complies with all McCrometer’s safety rules and regulations. Performs lot inspections as required by the Operations and Purchasing teams. Observes and complies with all safety regulations and company policies. Other Responsibilities and Functions Works closely with Operations to identify process improvement opportunities. Adheres to all regulatory compliance (OSHA, ISO, etc.). Participates in VES including Daily Management and Kaizen events. May assist supervisor with roles and responsibilities during specified times. Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work area. Maintains a commitment to teamwork and a positive, supportive attitude to all personnel. Supports continuous improvement activities (VES). Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of working experience, preferably in a carpentry or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Skills level is determined by Skills Matrix and Leveling Guide.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift.
  • Completes work with a limited degree of supervision.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions, specifications, blueprints, or sketches.
  • Must possess a strong sense of accountability, responsibility, and work ethics.
  • Excellent customer focus (internal and external).
  • Strong willingness to learn and apply new skills.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to suppliers, vendors, and associates.
  • Strong verbal skills to effectively communicate with managers and associates.
