About The Position

THE CREATIVE MANAGER PLAYS A KEY ROLE IN BRINGING THE CHARLESTON METRO CHAMBER’S MISSION TO LIFE THROUGH THOUGHTFUL, HIGH-QUALITY DESIGN. THIS ROLE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PRODUCING DESIGN AND VISUAL CONTENT FOR THE ORGANIZATION, CREATING ASSETS FOR PRINT, DIGITAL, PUBLICATIONS, EVENTS AND SOCIAL MEDIA WHILE ENSURING CONSISTENCY WITH THE CHAMBER’S BRAND IDENTITY. IN ADDITION TO DESIGN PRODUCTION, THE CREATIVE MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MANAGING THE CHAMBER’S SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE, EXECUTING VISUALLY DRIVEN CONTENT AND MAINTAINING A CONSISTENT, ENGAGING VOICE ACROSS PLATFORMS. WORKING FROM STRATEGIC DIRECTION PROVIDED BY THE SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING & EVENTS AND THE MARKETING DIRECTOR, THE CREATIVE MANAGER TRANSLATES ORGANIZATIONAL PRIORITIES INTO COMPELLING VISUAL STORYTELLING AND SOCIAL MEDIA EXECUTION.

  • A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
  • Two to three years’ experience in similar role.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects.
  • Advanced knowledge of multimedia design for print, web, video, large format display.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and using tools like Sprout Social.
  • Knowledge of printing techniques, paper selection and print mailing production.
  • Intermediate video editing or motion graphics experience preferred, including knowledge of video editing software.
  • Intermediate photography, photo retouching knowledge.
  • Intermediate knowledge of project management software, such as Asana.
  • Excellent oral communication and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple projects on time.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Flexible attitude and is comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications. (Word, excel, outlook, PowerPoint) required.
  • Must have strong customer support orientation (for internal/external customers) and demonstrated professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality visual materials across print and digital platforms, including event collateral, signage, publications, presentations, social media graphics, email visuals and promotional assets.
  • Maintain and apply the Chamber’s brand standards across all visual materials, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Manage the Chamber’s social media platforms, including content execution, platform presence and day-to-day oversight of visual storytelling across channels.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director and Senior Vice President of Marketing & Events to execute social media content aligned with established strategy, messaging and organizational priorities.
  • Work in partnership with the Marketing Coordinator to support social media calendaring, scheduling, analytics tracking and social media advertising.
  • Support Chamber signature events and ongoing programs through development of cohesive visuals, event branding and on-site signage and materials.
  • Develop and maintain design templates and visual toolkits to support efficiency and consistency.
  • Collaborate with team to translate campaign goals and messaging into effective visual assets.
  • Provide creative direction and visual guidance to part-time Video Producer & Photographer to ensure brand alignment.
  • Perform video production, video editing and photography as needed.
  • Attend Chamber events and programs to support creative execution and content capture.
  • Portray the Chamber brand and room sponsorships through the design of building signage.
  • Work within budget and timeline on all creative projects, communicating changes to the appropriate team members and work to solve problems to ensure all projects are delivered on budget and on time.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and oversee deliverables, timelines and expenses.
  • Utilize Marketing department processes and project management systems to maintain efficiency and quality. Ability to effectively manage, prioritize and complete multiple projects at a time.
