About The Position

Physician Credentialing Coordinator Coastal Health Coastal Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Physician Credentialing Coordinator to join our growing team. This vital role ensures our providers are properly credentialed and enrolled with payers and facilities, supporting seamless operations and uninterrupted patient care. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and experienced in managing provider credentialing and enrollment processes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Position Summary The Physician Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of provider enrollment and re-credentialing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of all required documentation. This role works closely with providers, payers, facilities, and internal leadership to maintain current and complete credentialing records.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical credentialing (Required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of provider enrollment experience (Required)
  • Payer enrollment experience (Required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with physicians and external partners
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with physicians
  • Maintain high levels of organization while being detail oriented
  • Capable of meeting time-sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Capable of working independently

Responsibilities

  • Manage the submission and completion of provider enrollment applications
  • Track and follow up on applications to ensure provider numbers are established accurately and in a timely manner
  • Interpret and comply with specific payer requirements, including prerequisites, required forms, supporting documentation (DEA, state licenses, CV, board certifications, etc.), and applicable regulations
  • Maintain detailed documentation and reporting related to enrollment and credentialing activities
  • Retain and organize records for completed enrollment applications
  • Collaborate closely with providers to obtain signatures, required documentation, and complete time-sensitive tasks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider enrollment data within the credentialing database
  • Monitor expiration dates and ensure all credential files remain current, including medical licenses, board certifications, professional liability insurance, DEA registration, and other required documentation
  • Process re-credentialing applications for providers with facilities and payers
  • Ensure compliance with client and third-party entity requirements
