The C&F Bank internship program offers undergraduate students an opportunity to gain exposure to the inner workings of Commercial and Industrial (C&I), Commercial Real Estate (CRE), Consumer, and Small Business Lending. During the summer, students participate in our comprehensive program where they will receive training and develop their skills and knowledge under the guidance of experienced professionals at C&F Bank. Responsibilities Interns will play a crucial role in supporting Consumer, Business, and Commercial Credit Analysts, by diving into financial analysis, assessing credit information, and contributing to the creation of impactful credit presentations that shape key business decisions. Participate in Training Program to include shadowing, case studies, team training, and one-on-one trainings with established analyst teams and managers. Learning Product Suite and competitive advantages of all three product lines. Learning how to calculate Financial Metrics to include Debt-to-Income, Loan-to-Value, Debt Service Coverage Ratio, etc. Learning how to interpret financial documents and credit reports. Introduction to Credit Analysis, financial spreads, and preparation of Credit Memos Consumer, Business, and Commercial (CRE and C&I) analysis Investment Real Estate and Proforma analysis Both independent and team contributions to live deals Research, develop, and present a Capstone project to management

Requirements

  • You are studying in analytical disciplines related to Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or another related field.
  • To be considered, you must be a rising junior or senior in an accredited undergraduate program.
  • You are enrolled in, or have completed, accounting classes and have a thorough understanding of balance sheet and income statement categories and comprehension about how balance sheet and income statement values interact.
  • You are confident problem solvers with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate an understanding of your findings.
  • You are passionate and hardworking, with a desire to learn.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills are required to perform successfully in this role.
  • Must be able to effectively utilize technology tools, such as PC and MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels is required.
  • Must be effective with time management and be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to travel between Richmond and Toano, Virginia.
