About The Position

Lead, coordinate, and plan as required to ensure the effectiveness of the daily activities of the Credit & Collections Department. Collaborate with the Credit Supervisors and team employees to analyze process adherence and effectiveness and assist Supervisors in developing improved processes and procedures. Communicate effectively with all departmental staff and cross functional areas in order to foster a positive and effective working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or three years’ experience in Credit and Collections call center environment.
  • Possess proficient PC skills in a Windows environment most notably as it relates to Word and Excel.
  • Have the ability to work in a changing environment.
  • Have a high energy level, excellent communications skills, and ability to solve problems.
  • Must have strong knowledge of practices and procedures related to Credit & Collections.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Performance: Works closely with Credit & Collections Supervisors to ensure that all collection procedures are effective and processed according to Sarbanes Oxley audit procedures, regulatory guidelines and requirements.
  • Leads the activities of the Credit department to confirm understanding and adherence to processes and achieve quality continuous workflow efforts.
  • Utilizes CIS expertise to provide system and process direction to the team employees as they perform daily functions.
  • Prepares, maintains and analyzes monthly reports and reviews statistics directly related to areas of responsibility with Credit Supervisors, to measure department performance and process effectiveness.
  • Maintain monthly reporting requirements for internal use and Regulatory Reporting as they relate to the team’s functions.
  • Successfully investigate, analyze, and coordinate the resolution of the more difficult credit related customer facing issues in a timely manner, in support of Credit Supervisors.
  • Provides support for testing efforts related to sprints, maintenance releases, and system conversions. Gives feedback and manages tickets to ensure projects stay on track and resolutions to outstanding issues are achieved as quickly as possible.
  • Utilize CIS expertise to support the Credit Supervisors by identifying process improvements and assisting in the development and implementation of new Credit & Collection procedures to improve efficiencies within the department and the Company.
  • Assist the Supervisors in ensuring that the company is following all applicable regulations by maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of company tariffs, regulatory requirements, consumer credit laws and bankruptcy laws as they apply to the credit and collection function.
  • Maintains a high-performance work force. Fosters a work environment of commitment and achievement, setting high performance standards for team processes outcome. Supports Credit Supervisors by demonstrating enthusiasm for the Company’s mission and goals. Leads by example and demonstrates a strong commitment to Unitil’s Core Principles and values and instills this same commitment in all employees.
  • Works closely with employees and Supervisors to identify and resolve system issues as they relate to all Interfaces.
  • Clearly communicates all issues with IT Department in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates, confirms and communicates proven resolution of issues between Unitil IT and external parties as needed.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with internal departments and external vendors, ensuring that Unitil maintains successful critical interfaces, while consistently demonstrating a collaborative partnership.
  • Capitalizes on unplanned opportunities and responds to unforeseen situations; undertakes and completes assignments and special projects as assigned by management.
