About The Position

Join the Park Crew! Crew Leads at Shelby Farms Park are vital to fulfilling the Park’s vision of continuing to build a great urban park in the heart of Memphis. Working independently and in teams to oversee Crew at our recreational locations, the Crew Lead ensures “above + beyond” customer service to thousands of visitors each year. Requirements

Excellent observation and communication skills are a must.
Being part of the Crew often means working in a fast-paced environment. We thrive on working smoothly under pressure.
Consistent availability for shifts on weekends and holidays (including school breaks)
Physical ability to perform required tasks outdoors in various conditions (extreme heat, cold, and/or inclement weather)
Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Responsibilities

Crew Leads oversee and support the Crew Members who are the frontline to greeting & serving guests in the Park.
The Crew is also able to answer questions about general Park information & amenities.
Crew Leads are the experts of the Park’s recreational activities & maintain knowledge of available rental items and operational times.
Crew Leads ensure Crew Members follow instructions and complete tasks on time.
The Crew is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment for staff and customers, including communicating all safety practices when using rental equipment.
Crew Leads ensure their shifts and shift responsibilities are covered to make sure the Crew can keep running efficiently and deliver a high guest experience.
The Crew operates registration & Point of Sale systems effectively: managing reservations, creating and completing sales, accepting payment for services, etc.
Crew Members take stewarding the Park’s spaces seriously: keeping areas tidy and maintaining functional and clean equipment.
Crew Leads work with the Recreation Supervisor to ensure revenue and customer experience goals for the various outposts locations are met.
The Crew happily performs other duties as needed to keep the Park running.
