About The Position

Lenape Valley Foundation (LVF) is proud to be part of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, a 24/7 national network providing free, confidential support to individuals in emotional distress or suicidal crisis. We have an opening for a Crisis Hotline Specialist—a vital role in helping people during their most vulnerable moments.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or master’s level candidates seeking hands-on experience in mental health and crisis intervention.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, nursing, education, or related fields
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Computer proficiency
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the role (with or without accommodation)

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming 988 Lifeline and Lenape Crisis Hotline calls
• Assess caller safety, treatment needs, and referral options
• Use crisis intervention skills to engage and support callers
• Coordinate warm hand-offs to crisis workers or emergency services
• Serve as a resource for hospitals and community providers
• Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly
