The job of Crossing Guard is done for the purpose/s of providing for the safety and welfare of students in transit to and/or from school; and communicating observations and/or incidents that may impact the general well being of students. Essential Functions: Assists students, parents, seniors etc. at cross walks Communicates school policies and enforcement procedures to students, personnel and visitors Directs students, e.g., guides and instructs in proper entry and crossing of roads, etc. Intervenes in potential emergency situations Maintains equipment, e.g., stop signs, vests, street signs, etc. Monitors students Reports observations and/or incidents relating to specific students and drivers, e.g., accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, dangerous driving, etc. Responds to emergency situations, e.g., students injured walking or bike riding to school Assists other personnel
